As a long-term Manchester United fan living in the United States, it is so rare to see my beloved team coming over to the other part of the world to play in front of a crowd. This past weekend, United played a game in Las Vegas against Dortmund, and I was surprised that the stadium wasn’t even close to full — many seats were empty, which is super rare if the game were to be played in Old Trafford.

There were quite a number of takeaways for United players, especially during the first 40 minutes when United played very well, applying a lot of pressure and maintaining ball possession. The goal scored by Dalot was also finished exceptionally well. However, the last few minutes of the first half were disastrous — two very silly mistakes cost them two goals.

The second half was, to be honest, very boring to watch. Manager Ten Hag also mentioned after the game that the players in the last 30 minutes did not follow the team tactics, showing no pressure, no formation, and no desire to win the game. Even though it was only a pre-season game, a win is a win, and a loss is a loss.

The fight between Onana and Maguire also received some media coverage, but I see it as something very normal on the pitch, as players often yell at each other during matches. It was also good to see Jonny Evans back in a United jersey, and he seems to be in better shape than Maguire — speaking of position, pass, and speed.

While United is flying back to Europe for the final two pre-season games, it is also time for us to prepare for the new Premier League season.

Last season, United was finally able to win a cup, and I am hoping that this year they can win even more. Our rival in the same city has been performing too well in recent years, and I hope we can beat them this season.
